Smakbyn´s square
In 2020, we moved our distillery to the other side of the road and developed it further into Åland Distillery. We made it our goal to fill the empty space with crafts and goodies! Let us briefly introduce you to our friends that you will find at Smakbyn´s square:

Ålands karamelleriet
Just in time for Valborg, on 30 April 2021, Johanna and Tobias Marquardt opened Ålands Karamelleriet in Smakbyn’s premises. Anna and Obi make their candy from natural ingredients. The production is open, i.e. you can watch, ask questions, chat and quality test their colourful hard candy.
Micke’s favourite is the classic polka flavour, so of course they are in their range of products, but also one with a Åland pancake flavour (whipped cream and plums)
and coffee hard candy. The most popular flavour, however, is the one with the Åland flag, which tastes like wild strawberries.

Mia Englund's pottery workshop
Mia has been in Smakbyn since the spring of 2014, creating ceramics in many different forms in her workshop, where she also has a small shop worth visiting. She is inspired by nature and its different colours and shapes. You might recognise the beautiful handmade mugs in the restaurant? They are by Mia herself. Fancy taking a pottery class with Mia?
